All Donors Score Summary -Last 5 yrs thru LFY

How to use the All Donors Score Summary -Last 5 yrs thru LFY analysis

This analysis enables you to quickly assess how your donor base has engaged with your organization over the past five fiscal years, including the most recent completed fiscal year (LFY). Drawing from your gifts and thresholds tables, it examines each donor's giving activity for each of the last five years, classifying donors into segments based on their annual giving patterns. The analysis produces a Score for each donor, reflecting their giving behavior year over year, identifying new donors, repeat donors, lapsed donors, and those whose giving has increased, decreased, or remained steady. These scores are then summarized into broader Indicator categories, such as Positive, Neutral, Possible Concern, and Long-Term Lapse, allowing you to visualize the overall health of your donor community.

You can use this to pinpoint which groups require urgent attention, such as those showing signs of lapsing (e.g., Long Term Lapse or Possible Concern), and which groups are trending positively and likely to respond well to stewardship or upgrade asks. The scoring logic incorporates not only whether donors gave, but also whether their giving is improving, stable, or declining compared to previous years. This nuanced view supports more sophisticated Constituent Intelligence, enabling you to tailor your strategies for re-engagement, retention, or recognition.

Fundraising directors, development officers, and donor relations staff should review the analysis, ideally as part of regular Constituent Intelligence routines, on a quarterly basis, or at key planning junctures. Use the summary counts to identify segments that are growing or shrinking in size. For example, focus on re-engaging donors flagged as Long Term Lapse,  or invest in stewardship for those identified as Positive.  If your version of the analysis includes individual donor details, leverage those columns to craft customized outreach based on each donor's recent giving trajectory.

To measure success, track changes in the number of donors transitioning from 'Possible Concern' or 'Long Term Lapse' into 'Positive' or 'Neutral' categories over time. You can also monitor improvements in retention rates and average gift size among the identified segments. By regularly applying these insights, you position your team to make data-driven decisions that strengthen donor relationships and drive sustainable growth in fundraising.
